Sonny and Shawn DuPre started visiting Liberia in 2007. They were part of a mission team from St. Andrews Church in Mt. Pleasant, SC. The team was led by Rev. Anthony Kowbeidu who is from Liberia. Sonny and Shawn have returned every year since that trip, with the exception of the year of the ebola virus. With each trip the couple fell more in love with the country and the people. After much prayer, they answered the call to move to Liberia.
Why Is It Named Three Rivers Outreach?
We both grew up in Charleston, SC and spent countless hours boating, swimming and fishing in three rivers – the Ashley, Cooper and Wando. We also spent days sunbathing and swimming in the Atlantic Ocean at the local beaches. On the other side of the Atlantic, Liberia’s three largest rivers also flow into the Atlantic – St. Paul, St. John, and the Cestos.
