J.D. Kimber School

About the School

Dwalu Kimber Episcopal School in Liberia was founded 14 years ago through a partnership between St. Thomas Episcopal Church in Monrovia, Liberia and St. Andrew’s Anglican Church in Mt. Pleasant, SC. The school was built and now operates in Plumkor Community, Brewerville, Liberia, which is approximately ten (10) miles north of Monrovia, the capital of Liberia. The school runs nursery classes through the ninth grade and has approximately 320 students. There are 27 staff members at the school, including administration, teachers, cooks, janitors and a school nurse. The children of J.D. Kimber School come from very poor and disadvantaged backgrounds. The school motto is “Religious and Quality Education for All.” A chapel service is held each Friday morning, led by different student groups, wherein the word of God is celebrated.
